City of Richmond

Building Department Codes

The City of Richmond along with all municipalities within the State of Michigan use the following codes.

1)                   BUILDING CODE:
The 2006 Michigan Building Code and the 2006 Michigan Residential Code are enfoced for permits issued on or after August. 1, 2008.

2)                   ELECTRICAL CODE:
The 2008 National Electrical Code with state amendments is enforced for permits issued on or after December 2, 2009.

3)                   PLUMBING CODE:
The 2006 Michigan Plumbing Code is enforced for permits issued on or after January 24, 2008.

4)                   MECHANICAL CODE:
The 2006 Michigan Mechanical Code is enforced for permtis issued on or after December 3, 2007.
