Cable Television

The City of Richmond Cable Television Services is a division of the Office of the City Manager.  The division is headed by a Cable Television Services Coordinator who is appointed by, and serves at the pleasure of, the City Manager.  The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all local community access cable programming and for coordinating the work of the City of Richmond Cable Commission.

The City of Richmond Cable Commission is responsible for making recommendations to the City Council on cable television policy and for monitoring the performance and compliance of the city's cable television franchisee, Comcast, with the standards set forth in the franchise agreement and ordinance.

Commission Membership

The City of Richmond Cable Commission is established by ordinance of the City Council and comprises five members who serve three-year, staggered terms commencing on July 1.
