UTILITY SERVICEMAN 1, LABORER POSITION

The City of Richmond is accepting applications for a Utility Serviceman 1, laborer position for the City of Richmond Public Works.  This is a full-time position, with benefits.  The starting rate of pay will be $23.66 per hour.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.  Applicants are expected to be able to safely operate vehicles and equipment, be in good physical condition, be able to perform the required duties with verbal direction and be able to interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner.  

The successful applicant must obtain a Class B Commercial Drivers License within90-days of D.O.H. The Class B Commercial Drivers License is required as a condition of continued employment.  The successful candidate may request membership in the Teamsters Union, should they desire to do so.   A one-year probationary period is required.  The preferred candidate will have prior Public Works/underground construction experience and have “D” and “S” State of Michigan water certifications.
