Richmond City Manager, Jon Moore, was appointed by the City Council on February 28, 2005, after serving as acting city manager from November 26, 2004. Mr. Moore started his employment with the City of Richmond in January 1997, as the Economic Development intern. In November 1997, he was hired as the assistant city manager and later added the duties of Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA) director.
Jon is a member of the Richmond Planning Commission, as well as the Executive Director of the City of Richmond Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA). He currently serves as the City of Richmond’s alternate delegate to the South Eastern Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG) and the Macomb Orchard Trail Commission. He was recently appointed as one of two Macomb County Representatives to the Regional Transit Authority of Southeastern Michigan (RTA).
Mr. Moore earned his bachelor's degree in political science from Miami University located in Oxford, Ohio in 1991, and a master's degree in public administration from Central Michigan University (CMU) in 1995. While at CMU, Mr. Moore worked as a graduate research assistant for the Center for Public Policy Studies and the Transportation Studies Center.
City Manager Moore has been a member of the Michigan Municipal Executives (MME) since 1998.
