The Macomb County Department of Roads, in partnership with the City of Richmond, is scheduled to begin the repaving of 33 Mile Road from Lowe Plank Road to M-19 (Main Street). Work will be performed by Ace-Saginaw Paving Company with Macomb County Department of Roads inspection. The project includes hot mix asphalt overlay, cold milling, joint repair, concrete curb and gutter repairs, aggregate shoulders, sinusoidal corrugations, and pavement markings. Construction work is expected to commence mid-May 2024 with completion expected in July 2024 (pending weather conditions).
The project is being funded in part through the Department of Transportation’s “Small Urban Program”. There are funds available to the Richmond Small Urban Area. The City of Richmond and Macomb County Department of Roads agreed to utilize the federal funds toward the repaving of 33 Mile Road. The remaining costs are being split between the City of Richmond (60%) and MCDOR (40%).
