Utility installation is about to begin on the Elmhurst Condominium Site at the corner of Howard and Dow Street. Weather permitting, the contractor is scheduled to begin installing the sanitary sewer on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. This work will require a temporary closure of Howard Street to allow for connection to the public sanitary sewer. The road crossing portion of the work is anticipated to take one (1) day to complete. The roadway will be closed the morning work is scheduled to begin and reopened to thru traffic the evening of the same day. Local traffic will be maintained at all times. Residents will always have access to either Division Road or Main Street.
The road crossing will be filled to the surface with aggregate material in order to open it to traffic. Permanent patching of the roadway crossing will be completed with asphalt pavement after the trench material has been thoroughly compacted. The permanent patching work will be completed utilizing a flagging operation.
