TWISTER

Twister is a 1996 American disaster film directed by Jan de Bont and starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. The film follows a group of storm chasers trying to deploy a revolutionary tornado research device during a severe outbreak of tornadoes in Oklahoma. The film begins with a young family taking shelter from an impending tornado, but the father gets sucked into the tornado and killed. The story then jumps to 27 years later, where the daughter Jo is a tornado-obsessed meteorologist who leads a rag-tag team of storm chasers.
