City of Richmond is seeking candidates for the position of School Crossing Guard

Qualified applicants must possess the following:

  • a high school diploma or equivalent
  • be 18 years of age
  • be a U.S. citizen
  • have no felony convictions

Pre-employment background investigation required

The work involves traffic control and supervising children while crossing streets and intersections.  The City is looking for individuals who possess the ability to interact well with children of all ages, use good judgment, and have flexible schedules. Having a good understanding of traffic signals and traffic patterns is a plus, but we do provide training. Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions and requires the individual to be in good physical condition with good mobility.

Those selected must pass a thorough background and criminal history check. The Crossing Guard Program is overseen by the Richmond Police Department. It is preferred but not required that the individuals live in the Richmond area. Position open until filled.
