The Richmond Area Historical and Genealogical Society is hosting their annual Heritage Festival, Fiber Festival & Log Cabin Day on Saturday, June 28th, 10am to 4pm and Sunday, June 29th, (Log Cabin Day) 12pm to 4pm.
Visit and see vintage tractors, pre-war vehicles, a sawmill, historic barn, blacksmiths and more!
Here is a list of activities you will find during the festival:
- Antique tractor show
- Antique car show
- Antique sawmill demonstrations
- Fiber arts demonstrations: weaving, spinning, etc.
- Village buildings will be open (containing various displays)
- Log cabin
- Train depot
- Barn
- One room schoolhouse
- Our newly renovated 1940’s era vintage filling station will be open to the public.
- Farm Bureau trailer containing agricultural related activities and a virtual reality booth where people can “drive” a large tractor
- Model T powered corn sheller
- Various crafts people: blacksmithing demonstrations, wood carvers, lace making, etc.
- Kids activities
- Milk a cow
- Shell and grind corn
- Pedal powered bean sorter
- Games
- Opportunities to earn “Festival Dollars” which can be spent at the “General Store”
- Chemical experiments (hands-on)
- Farm animals
Beebe Street from Pool Drive to Festival Drive and Park Street from Stone Street to Beebe Street will be closed (see map below). Park users can access Pool Drive and Festival Drive for park programs.
