Special Event Applications
General Special Event Application
Any person, organization or business interested in holding a special event that utilizes any public property or street right of way needs to fill out the Special Event Application in time for it to go to a City Council meeting prior to the event. Special events may include large sales or promotions for your business. You can download the application by clicking here. Special Events that do not interfere with roadways/sidewalks or utilize public property such as parks are handled administratively.

Mobile Food Vendor Special Event Application
If you are interested in applying for a Special Event with a Mobile Food Vendor (Food Truck) for your organization or business, you will need to file a Special Event Application MFV Application, click on the link to print the form and drop it off at City Hall.

All Special Events that include Mobile Food Vendors require City Council Approval.
Over the Street Banner Application
Any City of Richmond non-profit organization, school or church wishing to utilize the over the street banner poles to place a banner promoting their special event, needs to fill out the Over The Street Banner Application in time for it to go to a City Council meeting prior to the event. All Banner Applications require City Council Approval. In addition to Council approval, all banners must meet MDOT specifications, please click here for all MDOT rules.
Consumer Fireworks Special Event Application
The Richmond City Council has adopted the "City of Richmond Consumer Fireworks Ordinance” an ordinance to provide for the regulation of the ignition, discharge and use of consumer fireworks, as allowed under the Michigan Fireworks Safety Act, Public Act No. 256 of 2011 as amended by Public Act No. 635 of 2018 and all future amendments. City Council Approval is required for all Special Events that include Consumer Fireworks.
