Signage is an important aspect of advertising for a business. However, unrestricted signage does not benefit individual businesses or property owners, or the community as a whole, because a proliferation of signs in the City would unduly distract motorists and pedestrians: create traffic hazards: restrict light and air: harm the City's appearance: contribute to blighting: negatively impact property values: and reduce the effectiveness of signs needed to direct and warn the public.
